1 Part-time Caretaker Role for 20 hours per week.- Fixed Term contract 3 months
1 Caretaker covering (Monday – Friday 15:30 – 19:30) for a temporary post covering an initial 3 month period with the possibility of an extension to a maximum 6 months.

The job role
This post is a part time role within the `Asset Team` providing an essential service to the overall authority and will be based at the Council Offices, South Street, Rochford with occasional cover at the Civic Suite, Hockley Road, Rayleigh. The role is to provide general caretaking operations, alarm testing, cleaning contractor audits and opening or locking up of the council offices depending on the shift pattern or when providing holiday cover for the morning Caretaker. There will be the need to provide additional cover should the need arise over occasional weekends for wedding bookings.
You will also be on out of hours cover callout for the buildings both at Rochford and Rayleigh, including responding to intruder alarm call outs, and weekend opening and closing, which would be on a rota basis shared between three part-time caretakers.
The ideal candidate will be reliable, self-motivated and flexible and have effective communication skills, ideally with previous experience of caretaking, security and basic handyperson skills.
It is essential to hold a driving licence as you may be required to work at other locations.
