Job Title: Open Spaces Team Leader

Salary: Scale 6 - £29,777 - £31,364 per annum  

Hours – Full Time 37 hours per week

Required Qualification 

Full Driving License and Trailer Use  

NPTC Chainsaw Qualifications  

NPTC Safe use of Chippers  

IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent.  

NPTC or equivalent in operational power tools, machinery, Tractors and Implements and PTO equipment, lifting and loading equipment relating to the requirements of the post.  

COTS Training  

PA1/PA6a  

NRSWA O1 and S1

The job role 

Rochford District Council is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and proactive individual to take on the challenging role of Open Spaces Operative Team Leader. 

This is an exciting opportunity for a positive and enthusiastic individual to join our dedicated and hardworking Open Spaces team in a Team Leading Role role. The main aim of this role is to motivate and manage the day-to-day activities of the open spaces teams. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day health and safety of their team, ensuring risk assessments and method statements are completed and updated in line with evolving legislation and will be responsible for implementing these changes. The appointed person will be responsible for ensuring all work tasks are completed within given timescales by the Open Spaces Supervisor. 

Good record keeping is a must for the successful candidate who will be required to perform teams meetings/tool box talks, undertake staff training, and ensuring that their teams meet all targets as set by the Open Spaces management team.  

This role will also require a competent person to train members of staff in-house on machinery and best practice to ensure the highest quality of works for our residents.
