Are you confident, organised and committed? Do you have excellent communication and people management skills? Do you enjoy organising events?  From managing the Chairman of Rochford District Council’s diary, to organising high profile civic and charity events, no day is the same in this unique and interesting role.

This position will put you at the forefront of an all-year round programme of civic engagement within Rochford District Council and providing support to the Chairman in carrying out an extensive number of engagements each year.

The successful candidate must be committed to providing a high standard of customer care and will take prime responsibility for the direct liaison with a wide range of residents and community groups, as well as regular contact with a variety of dignitaries and high-level public servants.

Teamwork is essential as well as being able to work creatively on your own initiative to meet deadlines.

 We’re looking for an individual who has experience in:

  • Event planning, delivery and evaluation
  • Managing budgets
  • Building relationships with a variety of stakeholders

 

 The ideal candidate would be:

  • Highly motivated, organised and able to work under pressure to meet multiple, conflicting deadlines
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A team player
  • Able to work outside of normal office hours including evenings, weekends to support events when required
