Principal Environmental Health Officer – Environmental Protection  

37 hours per week 

Salary Range PO 9-12 £44,711 - £47,754 (depending on qualifications and experience) 

Located in South-East Essex, with miles of coastline, home to London Southend Airport and benefitting from good road and rail links, Rochford is a prosperous community with a small and dedicated Environmental Health team.   

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Environmental Health officer to join our busy multi-disciplinary Environmental Health team.  The post-holder will retain a specialism in Environmental Protection and main responsibilities will include investigating allegations of statutory nuisance and provision of advice and guidance to stakeholders.  You will also be required to interpret acoustic reports in respond to consultations.    

The successful applicant will have sound knowledge of Environmental Protection legislation and guidance as well as effective organisational and communication skills.  A commitment to provision of high standards of customer service are also essential and the officer will be expected to contribute positively to the progression of the service.  You must hold a full, current driving licence and have use of a vehicle.
