About the role:

The Council is seeking to recruit a full-time permanent Housing Options Officer. You will be responsible in being part of a small team to deliver a customer orientated service to prevent homelessness within the Housing Options and Homelessness service.   Experience in carrying out statutory duties under homelessness legislation would be essential.  A driving licence and use of car is also essential. 

About you:

You will need to demonstrate the following:

  • Experience in homelessness and/or housing advice casework
  • Working knowledge of landlord and tenant law, housing legislation and benefit regulations
  • Willingness and flexibility to work outside normal hours when necessary
  • Good understanding of welfare benefits
  • A customer focus
  • Comprehensive knowledge of housing & homelessness policy, procedures and legislation.
