The job role 

Rochford District Council is looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate individual to fulfil the role of Cemetery Operative. The successful candidate will join our existing Green Spaces team in undertaking our duties to provide high quality services to our residents. 

The ideal candidate will be willing to work outside in demanding weathers to provide an important and sensitive operation to our residents. The ideal candidate will be understanding and caring with their approach to work and be flexible with their time to ensure that our service meets the demands of our residents. Overtime is required on short notice within this role and the ideal candidate will be willing to accommodate paid overtime on short notice. 

The key duties of the post are undertaking internments within the Council owned cemeteries in all weather conditions, undertaking maintenance of tools, shoring and plant and also undertaking the grounds maintenance of the Council owned cemeteries.
