Our culture and values:

We like our staff to be proactive and innovative. Being customer focused and willing to maximise your potential at work are expected. We all work together to achieve the very best for our residents which sometimes means getting involved in projects and trying new tasks outside of your day-to-day job role. We love our staff to suggest new ideas and to have enthusiasm to try out new experiences.

About the role:

This role sits within our busy but small Licensing Team which has responsibilities across a wide variety of licensing subject areas including Licensing Act 2003, Gambling Act 2005, Taxi’s, Charity Collections, Animal Establishments, Street Trading and Scrap Metal Dealers, Pavement Licensing and Sex Establishments.

The role will require you to process, validate and produce licences in line with legislative requirements and departmental process; to prepare and present reports to a Licensing Subcommittee; and to undertake enforcement duties including site visits, inspections, prosecutions and court attendance.

The role will office based but will allow for regular opportunities to work from home. There will also require some element of out of office hours working around enforcement and committee activities.

About you:

We are seeking a well organised, enthusiastic, hardworking team player that has experience in at least one if not more of the areas of licensing.

Ideally you will hold a formal licensing practitioners qualification, and or can demonstrate attendance on relevant subject raining courses. Along with a strong knowledge and practical experience of at least one of the main areas of licensing.

We currently use the Uniform data base system so a strong working knowledge of that or similar licensing systems would be an advantage.

The salary starting and subsequent progression through the pay grade is subject to the Career Matrix.
