The job role
We are seeking a motivated candidate to work closely within the Asset Team on day to day administrative tasks while supporting planned works and projects. The Asset Team is a key central service of the Council, working across all departments. We deal with all council owned land and buildings within the district. For operational buildings dealing with service contracts, routine repairs and planned maintenance to delivery of projects. Routinely we are required to prepare reports for council meetings and along with more strategic report writing. The role will be supporting the Facilities Management and Estate Management aspects of the council owned property portfolio which in itself is relatively small yet varied and interesting. No two days are ever the same.
Excellent organisational skill, good I.T. skills, and good verbal and written communication skills are essential requirements for this role.
The post holder will be responsible for a number of administrative duties including assisting with Estate Management database, Utility billing recharges, monitoring Energy use, Contract and Tender documents, arranging meetings, checking attendee’s availability, booking venues, circulating agendas and relevant paperwork, and where necessary taking minutes. The post holder must also be committed to completing an NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration.

Please note, we are looking to onboard the successful apprentice in September 2020, in line with the apprenticeship provider and subject to Government Guidance relating to COVID-19. We anticipate the successful candidate will work from both the office (in line with guidance) and also from home.
