The job role

We are seeking a motivated candidate to work closely with, and assist the Procurement Team on related tasks and projects. The Procurement Team whilst small, is a key central department of the Council, working with virtually all departments, we deal with a large variety of Procurement projects, including the creation and awarding of Contracts, negotiations with Contractors and suppliers, along with more strategic report writing and staff training elements. No two days are ever the same in Procurement!

Excellent organisational skills, I.T skills, verbal and written communication skills are essential requirements for this role.

The post holder will be responsible for a number of administrative duties including assisting with Contract and Tender documents, arranging meetings, checking attendee’s availability, booking venues, circulating agendas and relevant paperwork, and where necessary taking minutes.

The post holder must also be committed to completing an NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration which will be managed through ACL Employability and Enterprise. You will be required to undertake an assessment in mathematics and english with ACL before being accepted on the course.
